Our solutions enable cleaner, smarter, and more efficient port operations while making shore power easier to deploy, manage, and scale.

Shorly is a technology and operations partner helping ports and vessel operators accelerate the transition to shore power. By combining engineering expertise, intelligent software, and proven operational experience, we simplify every stage of the journey—from tailored infrastructure to real-time insights.

The company originates from the shore power activities established in 2020 by Haugaland Kraft and Karmsund Port through the company Havnekraft. The company’s mission was to develop, own, and operate shore power infrastructure and deliver sustainable energy solutions for the maritime industry.

As part of this mission, Havnekraft designed and deployed high- and low-voltage shore power facilities for ports including Haugesund Cruise Terminals, Killingøy Offshore base, Bøvågen Lay-up Area, Smedasundet Harbour and Rubbestadneset Fast Ferry Terminal. The company also developed the proprietary software platform and control systems required to monitor, operate, and optimize the facilities, including energy management and automated climate reporting.

In 2026, these activities were consolidated into the newly established company Shorly. Personnel, software, and operational responsibility for the shore power facilities were transferred to Shorly, creating a dedicated company focused on delivering engineering, software, and operational services for shore power infrastructure to ports and maritime operators worldwide.

From tailored infrastructure to real-time insights, we simplify how ports and vessels connect to shore power. Combining engineering expertise, intelligent software, and hands-on operational experience, Shorly enables ports and vessel operators to deploy, manage, and optimize shore power with confidence.

Today, Havnekraft continues to own the physical shore power infrastructure, while Shorly is responsible for the software platform, monitoring, operation, and continuous development of the facilities.
